Founded in 1972, the Korean Institute of Landscape Architecture has been at the forefront of weaving the framework and structure of cities and landscapes, regions and environments, and life and culture for over 50 years.

About KILA

Korean Institute of Landscape Architecture (KILA) represents the profession and academia of Landscape Architecture of Korea. KILA was established in 1972 to promote the field of landscape architecture by providing a higher educational framework, bringing industry and academia together, and searching for a new direction for sustainable development. Currently, KILA has 1900 members including 50 institutional members.

Facing the crises of the Anthropocene and climate change, the 27th Korean Institute of Landscape Architecture (2025-2026) establishes a new vision: "Designing the next 50 years for Korean landscape architecture and landscape education ." Drawing on the dedication and passion of our predecessors, we will focus on laying the foundation for the next 50 years and establishing a path for innovation.
